Web Client / BSC Remote
The Web Client is used to manage the EnOcean sensors and actuators that are connected to the gateway.
There are different ways to access the gateway.
The gateway provides locally hosted versions of two clients.
The BSC Remote application is aimed at end users with a user-friendly interface, whereas the Expert configuration offers more extensive configuration options with a more technically oriented interface.
The BSC Remote application can be accessed from the Web Configuration menu. A menu item for the expert configuration can be activated under the menu item "Additional settings". The advanced settings must be activated for this. After that, the gateway must be restarted for this menu item to be displayed.
The applications can also be accessed directly via the browser: BSC Remote: http://<IP>/remote Expert configuration: http://<IP>/client
There is also an online version of the BSC Remote for remote access which can be found at: https://bsc-remote.app
Alternatively, there is an app "BSC Remote" for Android and iOS.
For remote access, the VID of the gateway must be entered in the "VID" field. This is displayed in the web configuration under “Software->State” and starts with 0#2#.
The system setup must be performed with the Admin Account!
The user name for the Admin Account is "Admin". The password is set when the web configuration is called up for the first time.
Please pay attention to upper and lower case when entering the user name!
The connection to the gateway is always E2E encrypted. The web application connects to the gateway either directly or via a transparent cloud proxy.
Authentication and key negotiation are always performed directly between the web application and the gateway. If the VID field is empty, an attempt is made to establish the connection to the local gateway. Alternatively, an IP can also be specified there.
The language can be changed in the top right menu.
New devices can be added via the plus button. There are several options here.
A device can be selected manually from a list or the QR code of a supported sensor/actuator can be scanned. Access to the camera (for scanning) is only possible if the web app is accessed via HTTPS or the Android / iOS app is used.
Additionally, there is a "Plug&Play" mode. If this is activated, pressing the learn button of a sensor is usually sufficient to connect it to the gateway. Supported Eltako actuators are automatically connected bidirectionally with the gateway after applying the supply voltage. Other actuators with support for automatic pairing may need to be set to learn mode first.
If a device is created manually, it must be assigned an EnOcean ID. For actuators, a learn signal can also be sent.
The ID configuration is also possible later.
With a left click on a device name the device menu can be opened. From this menu the EnOcean settings can be opened again.
Via the icons in the header (at the bottom in the apps) of the page you can go to the different areas.
In the upper left corner you will find the context menu. Submenus or additional functions for the current area are displayed there.
In the "Home" area, groups for sorting devices can be created via the context menu.
In the "More" area, the IoT exports can be configured. These are the same settings that can also be made via the web configuration.
